The core typeface for use on council communications material is Source Sans Pro.

Printed or digital communications

Core council communications, such as corporate publications, should use the corporate typeface, Source Sans Pro.

We advise using:

  • Regular for your main text
  • Semibold and Bold for highlights or subtitles
  • Bold and Black for titles.
  • Light and Extra Light should be used with care as they are not as legible at small sizes but can work well at larger sizes

Documents produced in Word/Powerpoint should use Arial (12pt minimum) where Source Sans Pro is not available.

Other communications, generally those for a specific campaign and with a distinct target audience, do not need to use Source Sans Pro, but we ask, where possible, that you use Source Sans Pro so that all our work feels connected.
